In addition to its continuing operations in Kesennuma (Miyagi Prefecture), Peace Winds Japan starts to expand the area in which it is distributing emergency materials to include the cities of Ofunato and Rikuzentakata (Iwate Prefecture).

AAR Japan has sent 10 staff to the affected area and has been continuing to distribute emergency relief items in Miyagi Prefecture. As of the 19th, the organization has delivered supplies to a temporary storage facility in Sendai, including 3,200 liters of kerosene, 6 tons of water, 1,000 blankets, 660 kilograms (1,455 pounds) of rice, 17,000 diapers, and many other items. These are now being delivered to shelters and other facilities.
